Q&A With a PRO :Choi Bo Ra, Hair Stylist for Celebrities

Have you ever heard of Astro, the Korean band? 9%, the C-Pop band? Unine, Next, L'Oréal Paris and many others...

I've recently had the chance to speak with Choi Bo Ra, a hair Stylist working with popular celebrities in South Korea and China for Q&A With a Pro.

C.BR: I worked for a salon in Cheongdam-dong from the beginning.Many years later, I'm still workind In a salon called "RUE710" also in Cheongdam-dong.

My name is Choi Bo Ra.

BANKALL Bubble Magazine: What are the female trends this season in term of colors and cuts?

C.BR: Hair color, warm colors are getting attention this season, also, high-layer cuts were trending in S/S. This trend will be continued in F/W

(S/S :spring/Summer ; F/W : Fall/Winter)

Who or What inspires you ?

C.BR:It seems that I'm usually inspired by all the things that I can see. For example, I try to express what I feel when I see stylish objects.Also, I try to find inspiration by reading a lot of magazines to keep up with trends.

I know a lot of people wash their hair differently, using certain techniques. So, I wanna ask you, Is there a correct way to wash your hair ?

C.BR: Never shampoo your hair by scratching the scalp with your nails, instead, you should use the bottom of your fingers to evenly distribute the shampoo throughout your hair. secondly It's very important to rinse the product completely out of your hair.

C.BR: After I do styling for celebrities, I monitor them on TV. Usually responses come from the internet, and I feel very happy and rewarded when fans say that their hair styling is pretty (smile).

Why did you choose to work in this field ?

C.BR: I like to touch and make something with my hands. I was quite lucky to become a celebrity hair stylist.

Do you have any secret, to fast hair growth ?

C.BR: Unfortunately hair-growing products on the market do not contain the vital ingredients needed to establish hair growth, instead these will damage. And also you shouldn't shampoo your hair more than 3 times a week.

Tip: you should shampoo with cold water rather than using hot water, because it can damage your hair.

Can you share with us some tips you learned while working as a hairstylist ?

C.BR: Mmm, I can recommend you a hair style that will suit your face : If your face is slim, side volume should be richer than the upper volume to supplement the face.And if your face is circle, It's better to emphasise upper volume rather than side volume for your styling.
