Q&A With a PRO: THE VAL GARLAND

Ding Dong! You've probably seen her in the Netflix "Glow UP" show or you've witnessed her spectacular make-ups on the models that hit the catwalks at Paris Fashion Week recently. Yes, it's definitely her: Val Garland. When I asked her if she'd like to quickly answer some of my questions for you guys, she said,"Fire Away!" So here we are!

BANKALL MAGAZINE : Val, if you had 10 minutes to do your makeup, what would you do?

VAL GARLAND: "I would do brows, mascara, base and Lippy ."

BM:We saw in some instagram stories, that you doe the makeup for some shows like BALMAIN or ELIE SAAB during PFW. What products did you use on the models ?

VG: "I used L'Oreal Paris."

Of course she would say that ! Remember, in 2017 Val was named L'Oréal Paris "Global Makeup Director"

Indeed, by rummaging through Val's "insta stories" we could see the different products she used (if you ever feel like you want to look like fashion week model).

BM: What was or what is your biggest challenge ?

VG: "I look at challenge as an opportunity"

BM: What's your next project ?

VG:" Season 2 of Glow Up on BBC Three "

I guess you've seen season 1 and you probably can't wait to watch season 2 like me. In this program, candidates were able to show their skills through catwalk, social media, drag makeup and more ! Val is a key character on this show. She is known to be a strong and confident woman.

"DING DONG" is what she'd scream when one of the makeups matched her expectation.She wanted talent,creativity and the ability to adapt to all possible situation,even under pressure !

I'm waiting to see the new challenges that await the contestants... and twists and turns of course!

BM: When did you first become passionate about makeup ?

VG: "Since I was a little girl."

BM: Which makeup look are you the most proud of ?

VG: "Working with Alexander McQueen, Lady Gaga."
